The Portable Door (2023) - Greg - 08-17-2023
A young man, Paul Carpenter is hired at a mysterious firm ostensibly as in intern but is soon tasked by the boss to find the titular Portable Door. Carpenter slowly learns that one of the functions of the company is to cause things to happen through coincidence. But all is not as it seems. There is a great cast including Christoph Waltz and Sam Neil. But after a great start the film bogs down to a sort of unsatisfactory ending. There is magic and there are Goblins and the Portable Door itself is quite the magical artifact.
The movie has a chaste young-adult feel to it, as well. Sam Neil seems to have the most fun of any of the cast members.
