About Fate - Drunk Monk - 12-24-2022
Why am I watching an Emma Roberts rom-com? Because Lewis Tan is in it, and he’s not covered in blood (although that might’ve improved it).
It took me a while to see Roberts. I remember her as a child actress and now she’s a bleach blonde with dark thick eyebrows and an adult face. But she still has that Roberts smile and I settled into this eventually.
The lead male was unremarkable. Wendy Malick played his mom and she was sorely underused. Lewis was a dick and a 3rd degree black belt, but his fight scene was lame. He does play good dicks. He’s kind of a dick in real life.
In the end, this was painfully predictable, silly and sappy, but such are rom-coms. It was cute, especially Emma.
