Fair

But I like saying 'waffles' more than I like saying 'pancakes'.

Don't get me started on flapjacks.

Carbs and sugar? I'm in.

And portland has the Waffle Window. The Pancake Window doesn't have the same ring to it.

Pancake portal might work…

I like the pillowy softness of the pancake compared to the crustiness of the waffle. A little fork stabbing, and that butter soaks right in. No syrup needed. (The diner near us used to do oatmeal pancakes with a honey drizzle, and that was nice, but I never use syrup.)

Portland has the 24-Hour Pancake House, too.

Belgium, a "boutique" country, is famous for waffles.

Amsterdam is famous for pancakes. And nothing else. Nothing.

Ha! Amsterdam has canals. And Anne Frank. Then nothing else.

RE: Waffles v Pancakes - King Bob - 01-11-2022

And the Van Gogh Museum. And Rembrandt's "Night Watch." Then nothing.

RE: Waffles v Pancakes - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 01-11-2022

And fresh Heineken. Nothing else.

RE: Waffles v Pancakes - Drunk Monk - 01-11-2022

I've never been there. I got nothing.

Just like Amsterdam.

Amsterdam gave us the Treble Spankers, an awesome surf band from the '90s

...and the guitarist, Phantom Frank, after recovering from a long (10-year?) hiatus for CTS or something, started The Phantom Four. I filmed this when they finally came to the US a few years ago and played The Ritz in SJ:

They were from Remulac, a small town in France, not Amsterdam.
