Zeb is a total loser. He checks phone booths for change. He digs through garbage to scavenge small items. In this way he acquires a discarded doll, which he puts on a dresser in his room. Later he sees a woman who reminds him of the doll (made clear to the viewer by superimposing the doll on her). After that, when he fondles the doll, that woman feels it, and is freaked out by it. Rinse and repeat.
This is really just soft porn. Threadbare plot, porn music, atrocious acting, lots of nudity. And on Criterion! I think I'm done with Wishman. This review really belongs on the Movies So Bad I Couldn't Finish Them thread. The problem is, I finished it. Why? It's short, and I was doing some exercises while it played. In the end Zeb peeps a boyfriend kissing the woman, gets jealous, and goes home to twist the head off the doll. The woman is then seen jerking her head sideways and falling to the ground dead. There, I spoiled the ending for you. I am so very sorry. A big apology.
