Bruce Lee's Death - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-05-2007 I need the DM's opinion on this article from the Bruce Lee website <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.bruceleedivinewind.com/death.html">http://www.bruceleedivinewind.com/death.html</a><!-- m --> Insight - cranefly - 01-05-2007 I'm not DM, but thought I would weigh in, because I was there when it happened. Okay, so maybe I wasn't. But I did read an article in Playboy 15-20 years ago that covered much of this territory. Weight loss, removal of sweat glands, hashish... It was written by a doctor who treated movie stars. I don't recall whether he treated Bruce directly or knew some of those who did. The article was well-written and seemed legit, and it was accompanied by some very graphic photos. Actually, no photos for this article. But I do recall photos in the mag. The bottom line was that Bruce Lee was getting Nepalese hashish, which was extremely dirty at that time. In other words, pesticides were heavily used, and the harvesting and manufacture process made no attempt to remove it. There was evidence that other people at that time suffered edema of the brain due to bad hashish. After his first very close call, Bruce decided to steer clear of hashish altogether. Unfortunately, when he mentioned this to his good friend Steve McQueen, Steve laughed and told him hashish was perfectly safe. Steve McQueen killed Bruce Lee. If I recall correctly, the Playboy article cited several reasons for covering up his cause of death. One not mentioned in this article was that Enter the Dragon was soon to be released. Linking Bruce Lee with drug use could have destroyed the box office. Gracias - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-05-2007 I'd never seen an explanation about how he died until I read this article and I wanted to check it's veracity. I guess I had the rumours bubbling through my head about assasinations and brain hematomas etc. Did Bruce give cancer to Steve in return? one of many theories... - Drunk Monk - 01-07-2007 Bruce was a pothead. That's been documented in many interviews, as well as on his autopsy report. So was Shitaro Katsu, for that matter (the original Blind Swordsman Zatoichi). PPFY might remember I kept the photo of Shitaro's bust in HI on my workbench at AFS (then again, he might not have got past the baby circumcision poster). As for bad hash, that just seems really unlikely to me. Hash is just one of many distillations of pot. Bad heroin, I'd believe. Bad hash would be akin to bad chewing tobacco. Their are more pesticides in you McD's salad then ever got to Nepal in the 70's and this is from someone who survived the paraquat years. IMO Bruce just pushed too hard. He burned out. oops... - cranefly - 01-08-2007 Are you trying to tell me I killed Steve McQueen for no good reason? I'm starting to feel a touch guilty.... Screen test at 24 - cranefly - 01-10-2007 This lasts over 5 minutes. I find it fascinating, but your mileage may vary. Bruce Lee coyly offers himself to a Hollywood that doesn't understand. http://video.stumbleupon.com/?s=on2hn8ob4u now we know the truth - Drunk Monk - 04-02-2007 and it involves popeye http://brotherhoodofdoom.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=738 |
