I never much cared for Mr. McDonald. He always seemed mean spirited and you were dumb if you didn't find his jokes funny. Still died way too young.

Same... Even tho I didn't particularly care for him, I didn't like the way he was yanked from SNL.

Since hearing about his death, we've been watching his show on Netflix. He's not as mean as when he was younger, and some of his jokes are strange and not that funny. It's hit or miss, depending on who he has as a guest. The Chevy Chase episode is the best so far. Off topic, but it turns out Chase played with Becker and Fagin before they became Steely Dan.
