Pokemon Detective Pikachu - Greg - 10-04-2019
So, yeah. I heard good things. Blah blah Blah. Plus, I have to bow down before my Marvel Overlords. (Deadpool Factor 2: Ryan Reynolds and Dohinder)(It is almost DP, since basically it's just Reynolds doing VO while somebody else manipulates the suit. IN DP, it's DP. In Pokemon, animators create Pikachu)
It was well done, but there's no there there. Maybe if I cared about Pokemon at all, I would have been excited to see all my favorite Pokemon on the big screen. But that's not a category that exists in my world. It's a buddy cop movie as the basis. In the beginning, they can't get along but in the end they are the best of friends. It's a very simplistic story at aimed pre-teens and teens I guess. There's a love interest. There's bad guys. There's Dad issues. There's a lot of Pokemon.
If I were 12 and loved Pokemon, I'd love this movie a lot more.
