Love Death + Robots - Drunk Monk - 04-17-2019 This is a Netflix collection of animated sci-fi shirts, each about 10 to 17 min long so very digestible. It reminds me of Heavy Metal - a mixed bag of violence, stylized visions and boobs - some good, some meh. Gratuitous, sanguineous, and a little lascivious. I haven’t watched them all yet. But I probably will eventually because they are little nibbles. I recommend THREE ROBOTS the most so far. That one is funny. I also liked GOOD HUNTING for its unexpected turn and it’s play on fox demons. The Fish one was okay. The yogurt one was disappointing. RE: Love Death + Robots - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-17-2019 3 Robots was very funny. The yogurt was amusing. I’ll definitely watch all of them, a nibble at a time. RE: Love Death + Robots - Greg - 04-18-2019 I've watched a couple of these as well. I'm not desperate to get through them. What happens is I'll be scrolling through Netflix looking for something to watch and I'll remember I could watch a couple of these. RE: Love Death + Robots - Drunk Monk - 04-18-2019 The yogurt paled compared to Python’s blancmange trying to win Wimbledon and that's all I could think of. I was going to say the animation was okay but not mind blowing then I watched The Witness, which was the most visual so far. I’m in no rush either but they are just the right length sometimes so I’ll likely get through them all eventually. RE: Love Death + Robots - Drunk Monk - 04-25-2019 I liked the story behind Zima Blue. Twas very zen. So my cherry pics so far are: 3 Robots The Witness Good Hunting Helping Hand Zima Blue The rest are still very Heavy Metal, and not necessarily in a good way, although slightly nostalgic. Almost done. RE: Love Death + Robots - cranefly - 04-25-2019 I actually watched all of these 2 or 3 weeks ago. The format and length is great for after dinner; the content, not so much. An awful lot of macho posturing, and solutions based on force. But there were a few semiprecious gems. I'm in agreement with DM's list above. Like I said...Heavy Metal. Remember DEN? The movie totally ruined that comic. As for that Den clip... Wow, that discombobulates my image of him in every possible way. RE: Love Death + Robots - Drunk Monk - 04-25-2019 Yeah, I saw the movie again recently and it's horribly dated now. Almost unwatchably so. Nevertheless, that's all I could think of when Elon put that Tesla in space. Do any of the other eps stick out to you? RE: Love Death + Robots - cranefly - 04-25-2019 Alternate Histories had some effective humor, as I recall. The Secret War is pretty macho, but I liked the setting and atmosphere, and characters. It was well-done Beyond those additions, I don't think anything else struck me. RE: Love Death + Robots - Drunk Monk - 04-26-2019 I watched Alternate Histories already. It was cute but something didn't quite work for me about it. I can't remember what that was now, not that it's important. RE: Love Death + Robots - Drunk Monk - 05-02-2019 The Secret War was good for it's animation and atmosphere. Kind of a gratuitous story tho. Another mindless charging horde. But beautiful and entertaining. I enjoyed Beyond the Aquila Rift too, again for it's animation, but also for it's Matrix-esque twist. Both of these have such solid CGI that for moments, I forgot it was CGI.
