Russian Doll - King Bob - 02-04-2019 Natasha Lyonne dies on her birthday and finds herself back earlier in that evening alive. And it happens again. So she starts trying to figure it out. Eight half hour episodes so no big time commitment. It was pretty good, but maybe a little disappointing on the ending. RE: Russian Doll - Drunk Monk - 02-04-2019 So Groundhog Day but a birthday? RE: Russian Doll - Greg - 02-05-2019 Dammit. This was next on my list after CF's review of Velvet Buzzsaw. RE: Russian Doll - Drunk Monk - 02-05-2019 Oh sure. Just watch whatever Netflix tells you to watch. RE: Russian Doll - Greg - 02-05-2019 Why change now? RE: Russian Doll - Drunk Monk - 02-05-2019
RE: Russian Doll - thatguy - 07-22-2023 I enjoyed this. The "New Yorkiness" was grating, but I eventually got over it. There are actually two seasons. Season one is a Groundhog Day-esque story. The main character is working out the rules of her reality and how to break the loop. Decently pulled off. I'd say recommended. Tho I agree with KB that it kinda got to conclusion abruptly Season two takes the same main character time traveling to solve some family business (hint: Nazis) I think I found the writing in season two more compelling and recommend it even more. --tg PS: I'm not sure what Natasha Lyonne's fascination with Peter Falk is about, but he comes up her a few times as well. |
