Pirates of the Carribbean Two - Haggis Killer - 07-12-2006 It's sad that I have to confess that I felt that some of the swordfights went on a little long. Much darker tone to this film than the last. Not nearly as many laughs. And, typical of trailers, many of the high moments were given away in an unhelpful manner. Not to mention that the big giggles in the trailers were all takes not used in the film. In particular, the "never mind, let's go" bit was done totally differently in the final cut. Better? Not really. Why do they do that? Very annoying. In all, we enjoyed it. Darker tone and all. Somebody should make a theme park ride out of this movie. I bet it'd be a classic. Maybe - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 07-12-2006 They were thinking about it but then realized if they did build such a ludicrous ride, there would be no room for the Ocean's 13 Casino of horrors. And everyone knows that would be much more enjoyable. Almost Fell asleep - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 07-30-2006 It just seemed to be endless collection of set pieces without anything tying them together. Did I mention I almost fell asleep? The pirate sea creatures were cool. It was great fun watching the barnacles grow on their faces or watch them becom whatever it was they were becoming. Neat idea, but why? The skeletons were much more fun and logical. [Spoilers] And that whole frickin Key and box and heart rigamarole and Jack Sparrow's soul. Yawn. You spend three hundred million on a film, you should at least get a good story. Couldn't they have tied the Evil of the East India Company in more? Couldn't there have been more chases. Tension? Drama? Can't wait for 3 and 4 and 5 |
