Fulljoy Friday @ the Sand Bar in Capitola - Drunk Monk - 09-22-2018
Not sure why I haven’t posted on this before. Reggae DJs Spleece & Linda. Dancehall at a small bar with a lovely deck overlooking the ocean, plus the Venetian - a colorful beach hotel where I used to know the onsite manager - Nesto actually - so I spent many nights there hanging out, enjoying refreshments, and watching Kung Fu movies. FF happens every 3rd Friday - no cover but we always buy drinks. It’s a bar, an ocean view bar, so we but lots of drinks. Tonight may have been the last Cruz reggae adventure w/my padawan Puga, who is leaving the area - one of my biggest partners in crime lately because we’re local. I will miss him.
Tonight we were blessed by reggae divas winding down the equinox. I always knew the sprites and fairies gathered on equinox and magically danced. I always thought it would be like an Enya show, or even Stevie. But I should’ve guessed - in Mo Bay, they’re at the dancehall. Lawd - wicked fiyah inna house. Haven’t had a good dose of bass worship like that for too long. Much needed medicine.
