Shoebox Trainwreck by John Mantooth - King Bob - 10-23-2017

I picked this up at Recycle because the book design was nice and I had a lot of trade credit. This guy is a really good writer. Unfortunately it was mis-shelved in SciFi.

The opening story, "A Long Fall into Nothing" was a shock and really good, but subsequently it fell into a rut of stories where something bad happens, or has happened, and the narrator/main character is stuck on a bad road that he can't escape. All Appalachian/Rust-Belt settings with drugs and violence. However, there were about three stories with supernatural elements, and they were great. The title story and "Walk the Wheat" were the standouts.
