Quackier Fortune has a cousin in the Bronx (1970) - Greg - 11-13-2016
This piece of crap stars Gene Wilder and Margot Kidder. Wilder plays the titular Quackser as a manure collector and salesman on the eve of the banishment of horses in Dublin which will mean an end to his livelihood. He's 30 and lives at home with his parents. His father wants him to settle down and get a job with him a the foundry. But he loves his job picking up dung and sleeping with all the woman in the neighborhood. Margot Kidder (who I thought was Karen Allen when I first saw the name) is an american student studying at Trinity and far some inexplicable reason falls for Quackser. I don't know how it ends because I just started to fast forward through the film to see if they show any more of Dublin, since that is one of the reasons I rented the film. He does become a tour guide.
Look this film is bad. The sound is bad. The cinematography is bad. I'm glad Wilder got to spend six weeks in Dublin to make this movie. I'm glad, sort of, kind of, that Margot Kidder does a nude scene. But it's not worth it.
I hate myself for getting this from Netflix. Although I did learn a valuable lesson of not renting this in the future.

I was greatly tempted by this movie, after Gene Wilder's death and being impressed by Margot Kidder in Sisters.
Glad I didn't pursue it.

Dublin in less than 48 hours. Still reeling from the election. Still freaking out.

Brown bread is indeed your friend. Flapjacks are marvelous, too. The Full Irish breakfast will not tempt anyone in your party. The seafood is also marvelous.
