Chaos on the Bridge - Drunk Monk - 12-10-2015

This is a doc by Bill Shatner. 'nuf said?

Well, if that's not enough for you, it's about the making of ST:TNG. And it's only a little over an hour, and on Netflix.

It was amusing. Like all of you I'm sure, I remember when TNG was taking off, all the skepticism (and that first season was bad, so painfully bad, it's amazing it made it). This is a lot about Roddenberry and was a prick he was, but it makes sense given that ST was his precious so he went all Gollum over it. Bill serves as the interviewer, which works strangely well. That back room fights are amusing, almost as amusing as Picard in a wig. Not dumb or dull. Very Shatner.

Passed over that last night and saw two other docs instead. I hesitated because Shatner directed and he can be too much some times. I remember when he got bent out of shape when Nimoy directed Star Trek 3 and 4 so they gave him 5, which I can't even remember.

Putting it back in the Queue.

Shatner...too much? - Drunk Monk - 12-11-2015

He's actually fairly restrained in this one. I wanted to hear more about his opinion on Roddenberry.

Hearing from the TNG writers was... fascinating.

This isn't a major doc. so don't go into it with major expectations. It's rather modest, and short, which is why it worked for me.
