Ever wanted to know the inside dirt on the making of 'The Princess Bride' by one of it's stars? That is the thrust of the book 'As you wish' by Cary Elwes the man who plays Wesley in the classic movie.

All I can say is meh. Seems a bit too pandering, tries very hard to be funny. Too much gushing. And there is not a lot of dirt. Basically, they all went out and had a great time with great actors for a great director working from a great screenplay. Woohoo.

Granted, he did talk a lot about training for the greatest sword fight ever. Turns out learning how to fake fence is hard work. I wish someone would pay me thousands of dollars to take lessons from Bob Anderson.

I think I've been on too many film sets for the revelations about film production to have too much interest for me. Nothing of any excitement happened during the making of the movie except for one accident but it seemed kind of minor. It's kind of hard to have an interesting book when there isn't any conflict.

I would rather read a tell-all on this film from Andre the Giant.

He did star in the first Saw picture. And that Mel Brooks classic 'Robin Hood: Men in tights'

Lots of Andre stories in the book. Basically, he was loved by everyone who knew him.

The Princess Bride (1987)

Still great, still delightful, hasn't suffered from aging a bit. Quite the opposite. It's gotten sweeter. The young Robin Wright and Mandy Patinkin are captivating. And Wallace is inconceivably hilarious. Honestly, has he done anything beyond this and My Dinner with Andre? Does he even need to? A true masterpiece from every angle.

And that sword fight. Still engaging. A DOOM classic.

Beloved 1987 film “The Princess Bride” is getting a DIY makeover from some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
Though the project is helmed by “Juno” director Jason Reitman, who has previously staged live readings of the film’s script, the remake was shot entirely at-home by each cast member using their phones. Beginning June 29, Quibi will release chapters of the fan-made movie every day for two weeks.
The star-studded cast includes couples Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, Common and Tiffany Haddish, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka and Chris Pine and Annabelle Wallis, as well as Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, Elijah Wood, Jon Hamm, Beanie Feldstein, Lucas Hedges, Jenna Ortega, Jack Black, David Oyelowo, Keegan-Michael Key, Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad, Andy Serkis, Diego Luna, Taika Waititi and Zazie Beetz, and even more.
The actors will trade off roles throughout scenes, each paying homage to “The Princess Bride” in their own unique way. In addition, original director Rob Reiner will play “The Grandfather” and Fred Savage will reprise his role of “The Grandson,” 33 years later.
The roles aren’t the only aspects of the film getting switched up: a corgi plays the “Rodent of Unusual Size,” Lego figurines or stuffed animals are used for crowd scenes and Jonas and Turner gender-swap a couple of the roles, with Jonas playing Princess Buttercup and Turner as Westley.
The remake is also for a good cause, as Quibi donated $1 million in the name of the project to chef José Andrés’ charity World Central Kitchen, which provides meals to those who have been most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
