RIP SKYMALL - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-23-2015

Everybody's favorite whacky catalog has filed for bankruptcy protection. People are spending too much time on their cel phones rather than perusing the catalog's wares.

Although, I never bought anything out of it.

Does that mean Sharper Image is next?

Wait, what?

Daniel Craig is to blame for this. Okay, actually, the Skymall writers -- Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and John Logan -- are more to blame. Three screenwriters? Story by committee never works. And boy did they ever butcher this franchise. Double-oh-seven is now double-oh-ought. Of course, director Sam Mendez can't be let off scott-free; he's as accountable as Tom Brady. I mean, he saw the writing on the mall and could have grounded it. But instead he just went along with this turkey and now it's fallen from the sky and can't get up.

I can't prove anything at this point, but no doubt Ben Asschin had a deformed hand in this as well.

Never bought anything out of it either.

"Skymall" was 'The Onion' of catalogs.

Long trips will be that much longer now.
