Doom Gleeks - Drunk Monk - 09-04-2013

So ED and DM are out of the closet as Gleeks. DM has a teen daughter who is into it, so there's an excuse, if needed (but really, when has DM - or ED for that matter - ever needed an excuse?). Season 4 plummeted with the new cast. And now, Season 5 will have a rough go. The Cory Monteith tribute episode is slated for 10/10.

Brittany is out this season so I'm probably done - Drunk Monk - 09-09-2013

A lot of major characters leave this season. I'll tune in for the Beatles tribute and Cory, but that's probably it.

They need to do a new spin-off with Brittany joining Kurt, Rachel and Santana in NYC.

Glee is done - Drunk Monk - 11-15-2013

The show is collapsing on itself. The new cast just can't measure up. The writing has gone really stale and the pop culture/current news issues factor is so formulaic now. The first seasons really hinged on the power of the ensemble, aided by a good formula. Now it's just formula and it's not making it. The two-part Beatles, to Gaga vs. Katy, and last night's Miley focus, were all just weak in comparison. Next week is Billy Joel. I'll have to watch as T likes it.

The Quarterback episode was tastefully done - a real tearjerker. I disliked Finn as a character because he was sort of wimpy and talentless and he bedded all of the hotties on the show. But given his troubled death, the episode was solid, save for the absence of Quinn.

Honestly, without Brittany, Glee is dead to me.

The addition of Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert as gay love interests for Santana and Kurt has some potential, as they both have fallen to be chorus girls for Rachel. This needs to split into its own spinoff titled Nyada. Or maybe Glum.

EP 101 - Drunk Monk - 03-28-2014

The critical EP100 reunited the original cast and the new 'freshman' were almost completely ignored. EP101 (or 100 part 2) felt like the season finale, but it wasn't. They are moving the bulk of the original cast to NYC (see my post two posts up).

It's where they belong now...off broadway.

Britana got a happily ever after, headed to the Isle of Lesbos, and then possibly, hopefully, to join the others in NYC.

Re: Doom Gleeks - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 03-28-2014

To be truthful, shouldn't this thread just be called Doom Gleek?

Nah, there are two of us...at least - Drunk Monk - 03-28-2014

ED loves Kurt. DM loves Britana. 'nuf said there.
El Dingo Wrote:I love Kurt. There, I said it. It's a toss up who is a better singer (Unique or Kurt) but Kurt can own Madonna.

Actually I just like that there is a show like this. As the series goes on the terrible branding and song selection deteriorates but it was the first prime-time show I ever saw that had two guys kiss.

Also, a show that turns the young'uns on to Rocky Horror buys a ton of street cred.

You should check it out, Greg. Don't be all homophobic. Be the tiebreaker. You choose - Kurt vs. Britana*.

*note that Britana is Brittany+Santana.

the original cast reunited in NYC - Drunk Monk - 04-07-2014

Dang, DM should write for Glee. I'm sure it pays better than writing about martial arts. Maybe I can write my own spin-off on Britana after they return from the isle of Lesbos.

A SWORD FIGHT!!!! - Drunk Monk - 04-22-2014

I am now suspicious that the writers for Glee are lurking on this forum to poach ideas.

Yes, there was a sword fight. It was Kurt vs. Blaine, the two main gay leads, so of course, it was western fencing. Lol Confusedmt065

They used sabers, electric masks but the rest of the uniform was standard, and it was a silly dance fight with whirling spins and such. Kurt got to spin his sai (no, not a euphemism).

I'm not implying that western fencing is gay but my finale western fencing duel with PPFY did indeed take place in the window of a gay warehouse party.

Not that I have anything against gays. Heck, this would have been uber awesome if it had been a swordfight between Brittany and Santana on the Isle of Lesbos. Of course, that would have had to be a flying wirework Kung Fu sword fight in silk cheongsams. Heart

Re: Doom Gleeks - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-22-2014

You mention your duel with the Yeti in the gay warehouse a lot. Is there something you aren't telling us? Do you pine for those times? Are you thinking of a career change based solely on fencing in windows?

You know, I've been wondering about those Castle Highland ye - Drunk Monk - 04-22-2014

First off, I ask you - if you found yourself fencing PPFY in a gay club window in SOMA, would it have been traumatic? Honestly, who wouldn't be traumatized for life from that?

It's all gone now. AFS. Castle Highland. That, and my previous years in the Cruz, was the most inebriated period of my life. So maybe it never happened. Maybe PPFY kept DM as his gay club fencing beyotch, shackled by illicit drugs, and paraded out for gigs like a gay cage dancer so he could keep up his horrid coffee & whiskey habit. Maybe PPFY needs another P - PIMP Poppin' Fresh Yeti. Come on now. We've all known PPPFY for years. He acts all gallant on the outside, escorting parents at weddings and such. But we all really know that he stole those book tapes. We all know. Mad

What's Castle Highland? - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-22-2014

Maybe you are still in the hallucination? If you were to wake up, you could get to that last class and finish your PHd.

if only... - Drunk Monk - 04-22-2014

I wish I was hallucinating now.

But no.

I am grappling with the ultimate reality. Cry

Re: Doom Gleeks - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-22-2014

DM is starting to remember; time for booze and electro-shock.

Re: Doom Gleeks - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-22-2014

Who gets the booze and who gets the electro-shock? Or is there enough for both of you?

Don't forget... - cranefly - 04-22-2014

Don't forget the grappling-with-reality hooks.
I think they're advertised on page 23 of the latest issue of KFTCM -- right next to the nunchukas.
No, wait. There are no more nunchukas in KFTCM.
They're next to the babe in the leg-stretching contraption.
