Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Drunk Monk - 08-01-2011 The Mrs. rented it. How regretful. Nevertheless, the sets were cool. Re: Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 08-01-2011 I know I warned you somewhere . . . . . I know, I know... - Drunk Monk - 08-02-2011 ...and ED warned me about Tron Legacy....and PPFY warned me about fencing in gay club display windows....and... and... Well, here's this: Quote:Donnie Yen and Cecilia Cheung to star in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" remakehttp://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/entertainment/view/1143785/1/.html Re: Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 08-02-2011 They listed the biggest paydays for the Stars in Forbes. Why isn't Jackie Chan ever on that list? If you aren't going to follow the plot lines of Mr and Mrs Smith why even say it's like Mr and Mrs Smith? <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://blogs.forbes.com/dorothypomerantz/2011/08/01/hollywoods-highest-earning-actors/">http://blogs.forbes.com/dorothypomerant ... ng-actors/</a><!-- m --> No one 'gets' Jackie - Drunk Monk - 08-03-2011 And Chollywood already did Mr. & Mrs. Smith with...well, this is a spoiler if you haven't seen it - <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://brotherhoodofdoom.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2139">viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2139</a><!-- l --> RE: Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Greg - 09-04-2020 For the memoir, I'm revisiting all the old movies. My ears perked up when I heard there was an uncut version of this film that had tons of outtakes and a behind the scenes documentary. Maybe I could see the sets I built but didn't make it into the movie. So, I bought. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is the film that continues to deliver disappointment even at this late date. The behind the scenes documentary was horrible. So dull. So long winded. If you wanted to watch them break down a scene ad-infinitum this is the documentary for you. I did get to see the soul of the DP die just a little when director Doug Liman told him he wanted to do a completely different set-up than the set-up they had just done. I could hear it in his voice when the DP "You want to a different set-up that will cost us half a day? I felt his pain. The outtakes were completely useless except for a few brief seconds where I finally saw the gattling gun mounted on the ATV racing through the Home Store. I hope to see more but it didn't come up. There was also a bit of redemption in the photo galleries where I saw the set of the collapsed freeway and the truck hanging off the side. This was a set I built and was never filmed. I'll investigate some more. I'll be disappointed some more. RE: Mr. and Mrs. Smith - cranefly - 09-04-2020 Here on DOOM, you've given us some behind-the-scenes commentary on actors, directors, set-building foremen, etc., showing their jerk sides or cluelessness. How are you handling that in the book? I think it's some of the most interesting stuff, but it could also be prickly. RE: Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Greg - 09-04-2020 At the moment, I'm going the no names route. RE: Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-04-2020 I thought you were calling everyone "Harlan Ellison"?
