Livefreaky Diefreaky - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-26-2006 Why hasn't El Dingo seen this film and then subjected us to it? Is he falling down on the job or what? Come on, it's the Manson Family story told via puppets? I'm sorry, Hanson Family. They don't want any lawsuits. I haven't seen it, but I figure it would be right up ED's alley. Or is it animation? Maybe the Haggis should be covering this? Either way. Get it and report back. Thanks Live Freaky, Die Freaky Well, I'm not into puppets... - Drunk Monk - 01-27-2006 ...but I must confess that ED rocked with the Meet the Feebles showing. I didn't think so at the time, but that was long before LotR, so in retrospect, nice work. That might make a good double feature with a film I've been trying to see for years - Legend of the Sacred Stone http://www.stomptokyo.com/movies/l/legend-ot-sacred-stone.html LFDF is coming to some east bay theater soon - Drunk Monk - 01-28-2006 Must be making the rounds...did it show near DOOM south recently? There's a big write-up in this week's East Bay Express... Nope - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-29-2006 They mentioned it on my fount of all information, the Kevin and Bean show. So, I checked out the website and realized it's own on DVD and available for rental. It was made in 2003 so I thought ED might have glommed onto it. (How many m's in glommed?) An odd coincidence then... - Drunk Monk - 01-29-2006 ...or could it be a sign? Shrug - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-29-2006 I thought there was no such thing as coincidences. The Review (of at least half) - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 02-12-2006 It's a Doom night film. It's not puppets, it's claymation complete with the worst rendition of a woman's vagina I have ever seen done in clay. Of course it also counts as the best, becuase it's the only. Kudo's to Charlies prehensile penis. Of the fifty minutes of the film I saw, I would have to say it was very odd. Yes, it's the Manson family story. Yes, it's done with the voice work of musicians. Billy Joe Armstrong as Charlie. Jane Wiedlin as Squeeky. Tre Cool and Travis Barker also made an appearance. It didn't really add much to the film to hear those voices, but I'm sure it's helping to sell the movie. It's a bit dull and repetitve in spots. The claymation is terrible, but it adds to it's charms. I'm not sure I'm driven to finish watching it but I'm definetely bringing it to the next Doom sing-a-long. Did I mention it was a musical? |
