python on late night with jimmy fallon - thatguy - 10-16-2009 promoting an upcoming 40th anniversary documentary on ifc <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/episodes/?vid=1166983#vid=1166983">http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com ... id=1166983</a><!-- m --> --tg caught that by sheer luck - Drunk Monk - 10-18-2009 i'm not that into fallon as a late night host and the boys ran rings around him. i missed palin tho. cleese was quoted in entertainment weekly - the 4 reasons to buy fawlty towers, now on dvd. he gave a good shot at palin. palin was quoted in the s.f. chron recently too, something about how proud he was to have been a python. looking forward to the ifc doc. a friend has promised to rip it for me... watched the first episode of the IFC doc - Drunk Monk - 11-02-2009 It was really good. I'm looking forward to watching the rest very much. Re: python on late night with jimmy fallon - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 11-02-2009 Saw the whole thing. Liked it very much. It is so much better after the first episode. watched ep 2 last night - Drunk Monk - 11-03-2009 i thought 2 was weaker. too much ruminating about fav skits and then showing clips. i was disappointed that they didn't go into how spam became part of our daily vocab. i also thought gilliam wasn't credited as a member of python until the 2nd season. they were discussing how he was overlooked but didn't go into that. i remember hearing an old interview with gilliam about how they finally had to acknowledge the american.... Re: python on late night with jimmy fallon - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 11-03-2009 Yeah, there seemed to be a lot of whinging and whining. Cleese comes off the poorest, I think. I thought I saw a lot of not quite so thinly veiled hostility because the group didn't listen to him more and how he got stuck with Chapman during his alcoholism days. I liked the second episodes for the clips. It was good to see the old bits. Re: python on late night with jimmy fallon - The Queen - 11-04-2009 I've had the opening theme from Life of Brian playing in my head since we saw the Lust for Glory episode. liked the 3rd ep a lot more - Drunk Monk - 11-05-2009 that was the cleese on defense/chapman on the sauce one. hearing them comment on each other was hysterical. enjoyed that doc overall - Drunk Monk - 11-16-2009 I would love to see that original interview with Chapman where he talked so much about his alcoholism. Would also love to see that Palin & Cleese vs. the to religious dudes on Brian, and the original stuff for the making of Holy Grail. All in all, it was a very satisfying doc. |
