"Night Watch" series by Lukyanenko - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 08-30-2009
Fun books, each better than last, tied together nicely in the end. Decent philosophical debates, good pop and nerd cultural references, lots grim Rooskie weather, Slavic stoicism, and maudlin vodka drinking...along with much dry humor. You could do much worse. Finished book 4 today and I think it is the last one.
