The Legend of Suriyothai (2001) - Drunk Monk - 05-01-2009

I've had this on loan from CF for months. It's taken me a long time to get around to it. Why? Because I'm supposed to be pluckn that damn albatross, not watching DVDs. Mrs. Dm canceled our netflix which sent me into DVD withdrawal, so in an act of desperation, I defaulted to this DVD. It was like one of those 'in case of emergency, break glass' moments. Now you're probably wondering why the hell CF didn't review this. It's just like Tq never reviewing her romance pulp bodice rippers. Or ED not reviewing the horrid slew of deviant vid we know he's constantly watching. Why? Because Dm is Cf's Thai-DVD review pony bitch, that's why. It was a total trick, something to distract Dm from the task of albatross plukn, just like messing with a teammate's fencing cord before a friendly bout. Remember Cf & Dm (and Lcf for that matter) are old kung fu classmates, as well as published writers. So sometimes, we just spar. Remember Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." And a great way to throw a fellow writer off is to loan him a DVD of the most expensive Thai production ever, a medieval epic, financed by the queen of Thailand and employing the royal army and royal navy as extras for massive battle scenes. It was brought over by Coppola, edited down from a 8 hour epic, down to an hour 45+. Dammit! You know how many feathers I could pluck in that time? Well, not many, maybe one or two, but it's getting down to it where ever feather counts.

Curse you, CF. I blame you. Where the hell did I put my tire iron and cotter pins?

'Bout time you stepped on this mine.

Next time I see you I'll give you Lagaan -- running time, 4 hours. It's Indian, and I was intending to review it; but one of the extras has a great uncle whose Thai.

That defaults it to you, bitch.

Nice try - I've seen Lagaan. But still.... - Drunk Monk - 05-25-2009

...please sir. May I have another? I've been very very naughty....
