Monsters vs. Aliens - Drunk Monk - 04-06-2009

Real 3D is cool. The story takes place in S.F., so that's funny. Reese and Seth are funny. That's about it. You've seen the trailer, you've seen the movie. I was hoping it would be more of an homage to those old '50's monster movies and for a moment, it looked like it was going to go there. They even went for the ol' 3D paddle ball schtick - classic! This film had so much more potential in that direction. But no, it went with the standard kid-flick formula.

T liked it, mostly for Reese and Seth and the 3D.

...I'm not going to recommend this film. There's plenty of other real 3-D flicks on the horizon and this one isn't that amazing. Plus real 3-D is an extra $3.50. For T & DM it was like $30 for the flick and a small popcorn.

If tQ and I ever leave the puppy manor, we still want to see it.

...so you've already seen it. The movie is just a little longer and a little deeper (deeper as in 3D, not as in deeper plot). Save your hard earned 3D surcharge for UP.

When DM talks, you should really listen. The Queen and I saw this on the television without the benefit of 3-d, real or otherwise. We shouldn't have. I don't think Reese was that funny, but Seth has never been funnier. Still, not worth seeing. The next time DM tells me to do something, I'm going to do it. Not really.

There was something seriously wrong with the eyes and faces in this one. Maybe I'm spoiled by Pixar/Disney? I was so distracted by the odd eye movement that I kept getting taken out of the story. I did enjoy a few moments of Stephen Colbert as the President.

did you see the bonus bob dvd? - Drunk Monk - 10-13-2009

...because that looks entertaining. If you want good 3D, it's all about Cloudy w/meatballs right now. I know, it sounds stupid, and it is, but a sky full of falling cheeseburgers is amazingly entertaining in 3D. It'll suck on TV.
