Bloodsucking Freaks (1978) - cranefly - 03-22-2009
Nothing quite pleases the eye so much as an evil dwarf prancing happily about his latest victim. Gosh, this is one happy dwarf.
The evil Sardu orchestrates torture shows in a seedy nightclub. The dwarf is his enthusiastic helper. Though the movie is low budget and perhaps shows some of its age, there is some truly demented stuff here. Dang, that dwarf knows how to have fun. A critic pisses off Sardu. A ballerina intrigues him. Sardu orders the dwarf to "recuit" both of them for a new show -- a torture ballet.
A couple of the scenes that stood out in my mind -- spoiler alert!
1) To get the tied-up ballerina to agree to dance, the dwarf prances around her for days clanging cymbals.
2) The torture ballet comes to a climax with the ballerina -- as part of her nude dance -- kicking the critic to death.

It's good you are finally getting to see some comedies.
