Worst. Vacation. Ever. - El Dingo - 03-02-2009
I'm staying home this week.
We are having a heater installed. We haven't had one for the last two years and there have been a few cold mornings.
The heating company said no one has to be home, but we have 3 neurotic dogs that wouldn't understand the banging, sawing and under-house noises. The strangers walking through the house would also raise concern.
"Fine," I thought, "I shall take the week off and spend the days outside with the dogs. I'll smoke cigars and catch up on my reading (1/3 of the way through "Perdido Street Station"). The weather had other plans.
So here I am, cooped up in the house, trapped by the rain. Moving from room to room as needed so the heating guys can cut holes in the floor. I have to keep the dogs calm and drag furniture away from the walls where vents are being installed.
At least I have some whisky and season 4 of 'Battlestar Galactica'...
