Kung Fu TV Series - The Queen - 12-30-2008 Hadn't seen it in a zillion years and needed something to do while the glynch went up North to hang plates, so I rented the 2nd season from Netflix (1st season not available for some reason). It's a lot slower than I remembered, but gotta confess, I really enjoyed revisiting it, and either I missed a few episodes or just have completely forgotten them. Re: Kung Fu TV Series - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-02-2009 Wow! I caught the edge of one of the episodes during the Queen's lunch break. Was the Kung Fu supposed to be that bad? Re: Kung Fu TV Series - The Queen - 01-02-2009 That particular episode (The Salamander) was particularly bad. Re: Kung Fu TV Series - El Dingo - 01-05-2009 I love the show but can't bring myself to buy the season one DVD. Apparently they not only released the syndicated version with a few minutes cut out of each episode (to allow for more commercials) but they cropped the frame to make it wide-screen. The second and third season are available in the proper 4/3 screen size, but are only available in the 'complete' box set. bad kung fu - Drunk Monk - 01-05-2009 that's what made the series really challenging. great writing, crappy kung fu. it's usually the other way around. Re: Kung Fu TV Series - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-05-2009 Um? When did the great writing kick in? season 3 - Drunk Monk - 01-06-2009 it was a groundbreaking series. watch it in context of the other shows that were out there. Re: Kung Fu TV Series - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-06-2009 I'm supposed to watch all the TV shows from that era so I can see how much superior the writing was on Kung Fu? that would be your choice... - Drunk Monk - 01-06-2009 ...but if the kung fu AND the writing sux, wtf did you netflix it for? Re: Kung Fu TV Series - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-06-2009 Talk to the Queen. While she was pining for you in your Tux, I mean me, she wanted to reexperience some old Kung Fu memories. As usual, I caught one of the low ebb moments. me in a tux is a small substitute for the glynch - Drunk Monk - 01-07-2009 used to be dm in a tux was maybe a third of the glynch. now it's less than half. somehow dm-in-tux/glynch-lite does not equal the caine minstrel show, but we're talking tq here, and she's crazy enough to live with the glynch, so there you have it. who's your pom daddy? Re: Kung Fu TV Series - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-07-2009 So many words, so little meaning. oh come on now - Drunk Monk - 01-07-2009 if i can't clutter up this forum with babble, what's the point? Re: Kung Fu TV Series - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-07-2009 And the battle starts! Shouldn't you be doing some writing or Assistant Publishing? Let the insight cease! Babble stations, everyone, babble stations. |
