Meatball Machine - cranefly - 12-29-2008

A carapace-like raping organism/machine infects humans with a tumor-like growth on the neck, in which small aliens live, controlling the human, who maintains his/her identity but bends to the alien's will. Infected humans acquire all kinds of tentacles and grow a weird assortment of weapons as needed.
Infected humans reminded me of a cross between transformers and power rangers, though their fights are less martial arts and more slugfests, or they consist of counterattacks using bigger and stranger weapons.

There's a nice post-apocalypse look and atmosphere to the film, and there's tentacle sex, but no real nudity.
The DVD includes the extreme low-budget short by the director that he then expanded into this feature-length film.
I had the feeling he needed to do one more draft to get it right. The story drags in spots, the plot fizzles out, and the compelling emotional relationship between a guy and gal geek in the opening gets discarded along the way.

Some might like it, some not. A shade shy of Doomworthy for me.
