Soooo...a forum for travel, eh? - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 08-29-2008

Nope. No big trips planned. Well, just a small one to Southern Oregon, but that doesn't really count. I mean, it's only Oregon and just a bit of the southern part, really. It's just like Northern California, but with no sales tax.

Umm...anyone else taking a trip soon? Anyone?

Ah, I see; no exciting travel for either of us, eh? Pity.

Las Vegas, Baby! - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 08-31-2008

Although, I can't talk about it. That would break the code. And I'd have to admit I was going to Vegas so I could attend Photoshop world. Give in to your inner geekdom! Well, not quite so inner at this point.

Vegas will be interesting: while the geek is off taking classes, I'll be spending most of my time poolside at the Mandalay Bay (or in the room when it gets too hot outside), reading the stack of Kathy Reichs books the library kindly put aside for me. Just spent every dime I have (and then some) on the Chicago/Wisconsin trip, so I won't be doing much gambling -- hmmm, wonder how many quarters are left in my change jar...

New York is 99% work. The only time I'll probably leave the Hotel Penn is on the Thursday evening; I have a cousin who lives in Brooklyn and we're getting together for dinner.

Phoenix is 100% work. I have a friend in Chandler -- hopefully she'll be in town and free one evening.

Lakeland is the annual Thanksgiving thing at Mom's. No, it won't be "exciting," and my back will be destroyed by a week on their sleeper sofa but the food will be fantastic, I'll play some golf, take more pictures of the birds and gators, and have lots of drinks with their friends. It'll be very relaxing.

BTW - now that I got all that pesky work out of the way, I finally updated my personal website with pictures from our Chicago and Southern Wisconsin trips. www.cindihartman.com

and walking up and down upon it... - Drunk Monk - 09-01-2008

...California, I mean. Yesterday I woke in Miranda (Humboldt county, just north of Garberville). Tomorrow I leave for Anaheim. Driving all the way. It's a nice way to end the summer. I'm enjoying our golden state from north to south.

Were you planning on waking up there, or did it just happen? Was this some kinda R on the River thing? Anaheim? More work?

Cindi, while in Vegas you could hit The Gun Store and cut loose with automatic weapons. Alternately, upstairs from The Freakin' Frog (next to UNLV) is a very fine whisky & cigar bar. Have anything Caol Ila or Ardbeg, if you like the Islays. Have one for me if you do! :partyman:
