Plum Lucky - Janet Evanovich - The Queen - 03-15-2008

Another one of the "between the numbers" Stephanie Plum adventure. Deliciously silly junk food - no more than an hour's read, tops. Grandma Mazur finds a duffle bag full of money (which was stolen from an aging, sickly and increasingly mentally unbalanced mobster) and naturally runs off to Atlantic City. With a little person. Stephani and Lula go to recover Grandma get whatever remains of the money and save her from the mobster. And of course Lula manages to spend some of it on too-small-for-her spandex.

Well, at least this book didn't dwell on the consumption of TastyKakes (which, if I'm skinny enough, I might have to try the next time my job sends me to Jersey.)

Fearless Fourteen, the new Stephanie Plum book, is out. A little on the light side (of a pretty lightweight series) but enjoyable nonetheless. Definitely a "library" or "used paperback" read.

It's on the list - The Queen - 06-30-2008

It's on my holds list, along with By Schism Rent Asunder (David Weber), Small Favors (Jim Butcher), From Dead to Worse (Charlaine Harris) and Odd Hours (Dean Koontz). I love new books in old series. I hate waiting, but I know my wallet will be happier if I wait.

And until then, I've got the new Elizabeth George and some awful Mary Janice Davison wannabe on my Palm.

I've just been leant a bag o' Nigel Green. He is the book equivalent of fast-food. Enjoyable, quick, de-lish, insubstantial, detrimental to long-term health
