The Queen is heading to the doctor this afternoon for her bee stings. The swelling has increased dramatically and she wants to make sure there is nothing to be done about it.

One of the naive things you can say about stings is that you're not allergic. In many people, the toxins are cumulative. Just because you didn't have a reaction before, the next sting might push you past the brink. Glad she went because those looked pretty nasty online - they'll probably give her an Rx antihistamine and maybe some topical steroids. Better that than anaphylaxis.

Bought hearing aids at Costco. Get fitted in 2 weeks. Top shelf, it appears, for much less. The testing was equivalent to Kaiser test, results about the same. Costco has a 6 month full refund Buyer's Remorse policy, so I'm taking the plunge.

Somewhat longer version: Some of you folks know about this already but many of you haven't heard yet. This disorder is somewhat akin to Parkinson's. His flavor attacks the cerebellum, and prognosis is 6-10 years after onset of symptoms, which we think was 2019/20. His hips were bad, too, which muddied the issue. Finally got a diagnosis (as much of one as we're going to get since the only way to tell for sure is to autopsy the brain) just before the 4th of July weekend, 2023. No fireworks for us.
He's still walking some, though he needs assistance (trekking poles or a walker, depending on distance) but installation of ramp at the front door is scheduled and if anyone knows of a good contractor who can rip out our tub and install a low-threshhold shower, the info would be greatly appreciated.
One area that has been affected is his voice--anyone who would like to talk to him, now's the time. Unfortunately, we don't have a good idea of how quickly this will progress. He seems to hit a plateau, but then there will be another sudden loss of function.
If you have read this far, thank you. If you want to message him on Facebook, or email, or call, or buy his books--any and all reaching out by our kung fu family would be deeply appreciated. Even if you just keep him in your thoughts. He's got a pretty hellish road ahead.

Well I'm having some odd stomach trouble. It's been off and on for a couple of weeks but now always on. It has settled into me feeling very full after eating and sometimes queasy as well, and I'll wake up in the morning feeling queasy and still full from dinner. We often walk after dinner, and I feel a bit short of breath then as well. If I eat less it's not as bad, so I've been doing that for a few days. I could stand to lose some weight anyway.
I've got a phone appointment with the doctor next Tuesday, although I think I'll need to go in anyway so it seems like a waste of time to do the phone thing, but that's what they wanted.

Well I had my gallbladder out so it's not that. Could be pancreatitis.
Christina is a worrier, and her coworker's brother-in-law was having stomach trouble and wound up with an esophageal cancer that had metastasized to the liver, so she's concerned. I'm less concerned.
