You guys are kicking my cyst here.

What DM said. There is a reason you aren't supposed to go to the dentist. (My flossing is very on point at this time)

Why bone grafts? Do I want to know?

RE: I'm more broken than you - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 03-28-2023

Bone grafts due to bone loss and I need bone (BONE!) to anchor the implants. They’ll partially fill one of the sinus cavities with BONE in order to make this happen.

This is what happens when you only visit the dentist every other decade.

RE: I'm more broken than you - Greg - 03-28-2023

You're not really selling it. Good luck? I guess.

Look at all of the money I’ve saved over the decades…!

[sobs quietly]

I suspect that if I make a boneless comment here, that I'm walking into some second intention trap. It's just too much of an invitation.

So I'll quote our late D00Mbro "You haven't been boned until you've been legboned."

[reluctantly disarming lethal Death Haiku]

Well played, DM. Next time, perhaps?

[Urbanely strolls away from the scene, sirens of Law Enforcement drawing near]

Ha. Well, you know that's my modus operendi. When losing at fencing, switch to iaido.

RE: I'm more broken than you - Greg - 03-29-2023

Need to investigate Death Haiku further.

RE: I'm more broken than you - Greg - 04-02-2023

I'll be spending the rest of the day seeing how severe of a rash I'll be receiving by walking into a poison oak plant.

RE: I'm more broken than you - Drunk Monk - 04-02-2023

If only you were wearing long pants...

RE: I'm more broken than you - Greg - 04-02-2023

Not on such a beautiful day. Well, any day for that matter.

RE: I'm more broken than you - King Bob - 04-02-2023

Ouch. Good luck with that.

My brother always got a severe reaction to poison oak. I rarely got it. My father claimed to be immune. He told me that when he was young, he and a friend terrorized some other kids at the swimming hole by cutting poison oak stems, rubbing them all over themselves and chasing the other kids. Maybe they washed it off? He ended the story by saying "lucky we didn't die."

RE: I'm more broken than you - Drunk Monk - 04-02-2023

Allegedly you can build up immunity. At least some people can. The ones that don’t go into anaphylaxis.

I’ve treated a lot of oak at festivals. Had a site guy go at a patch with a weed whacker and spread it all over him - eyes and throat were ok so we didn’t have to roll him

It’s all about Tecnu. That’s the best stuff.

RE: I'm more broken than you - King Bob - 04-02-2023

I remember that TG had a bad allergic reaction (bug bites? poison oak?) when we were camping in Scouts. Lacking any appropriate medication, the fathers decided to give him some of my asthma medication, which seemed to work.

RE: I'm more broken than you - Drunk Monk - 04-02-2023

That’s smart. Like scouts smart. Asthma and allergic reactions can both be triggered by histamines so one might sub for the other in a pinch. Or it could trigger a worse reaction. Since your asthma Med was most likely a script, that’s a gutsy move legally.
