RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-08-2021

330: Didn't do much over the weekend so it's a work day. Mondays are feeling like Mondays again because all my gigs tend to drop something on my desk and that gets to be a lot. Yesterday we went for a short hike up at UCSC with Yuki - checked out the world conifer grove, saw some deer and dodged some red-tailed hawks.

This week might get busy.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-09-2021

331: YMAA & Den. Over to my mom's, maybe for 2 days. Need to send something to Tara and prep for the weekend.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-10-2021

Well, crap. I was hoping to finish my Den piece on Crazy Samurai but I kept getting interrupted all day and now it's past midnight so I need to crash.

332: I have a YMAA telemeet first thing. Then I take my mom to get her 1st vaccine dose. Then I gotta finish the Den piece. I'm not sure if I'll go home tomorrow. It depends upon how well the shot goes for her.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-11-2021

333: Well, that's an auspicious number. Got the usual YMAA telemeet and some weekend prep. Finished that Den piece so it's just YMAA/KFM work again.

334: Chinese New Year. I have three pieces dropping today, 2 CNY pieces, 1 for KFM and 1 for GD, and a Den piece on Crazy Samurai. Then work tasks. Plus I must service my altar for the New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-12-2021

Man, it's been a day. I'm about to step into a pre-panel meeting for next week's panel for Immortal.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-13-2021

335: Well, I was hoping to go to Kung Fu today but it's raining. What with covid, we practice outside in the parking lot, like the old days of Lam Kwoon. My iPhone says it'll clear up by classtime but it also said it wasn't raining when it was. Fingers crossed.

Beyond that, I'll likely chip on YMAA stuff and buy some flowers for tomorrow.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-14-2021

336: We had a nice Valentine's Day escape to Carmel - a long beach walk and a short trail with Yuki - escaped the mob just in time, and then got take out Indian from Ambrosia and will tuck into some PBS & chill later.

337 (tomorrow since I might not log on): Stacy's birthday - we hope to go for a hike - were planning to go to Henry Cowell, but we'll see what the rain brings...

Happy Birthday to Stacy!

My Valentine was almost perfect. Slept late, had coffee, roamed the city a little, got Bob’s Donuts (best in SF, second only to Lou’s in San Jose). Only thing missing was Harriett. She is on a writing retreat with one of her German teaching cohorts and they have a book contract with actual deadlines.

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 02-15-2021

Sorry to tell you that Lou's is long gone. Maybe as long as ten years. Stan's on Homestead is still there, but I thought not quite as good as it used to be last time I went. We usually go to Maple Leaf on Saratoga for our rare donuts. Good old school donut, nothing fancy.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 02-15-2021

Oh, I knew Lou's was long gone. It was still the best

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 02-15-2021

I love to go to any store named Bob's, so I looked them up. That looks good. Is one store better than the other? And I need one of those coffee cups.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 02-15-2021

Both good, but the original Bob’s on Polk St has the advantage of being open 24 hours and being on a street with a, um, *variety* of different peoples. Best between the hours of 11:30pm and 3:00am. During the day, you can visit the Vibrator Museum across the street at Good Vibrations, or buy a top-quality San Francisco-made leather motorcycle jacket at Johnson Leathers.

If the neighborhood is immaterial, the chocolate Old Fashioned is just as good as the new place on Baker. They’re only open until 9:00pm, though.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 02-16-2021

It seems to me that the Yeti has given this some thought.....

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 02-16-2021

Thought and extensive research.

338: After taking the last two days off, I have a backlog of ymaa tasks, plus I’ll stop by tc on my way to my mom’s this afternoon to chat and pick up a package.
