I was going to make a Princess Bride firm grip joke but it took too much work.

I'm thinking the Nunchuks phase has jumped the shark.

They didn't have this badge when I was in Boy Scouts...I was a Quartermaster, but I'd rather have been a Quarterstaff Master...

Quote:Boy Scouts' Instruction on the Quarterstaff and Other Weapons

When Robert Baden-Powell founded the scouting movement in the early years of the Twentieth Century, it was directly inspired by his military career and the sense that some paramilitary training was proper for patriotic British boys.
This martial flavor is especially evident in the movement’s early literature, such as this 1925 instruction manual that instructs scouts in the tasks necessary to earn the master-at-arms badge. The first section addresses the use of the saber, while using wooden sticks as training implements. Next is the quarterstaff, which is a useful choice, as the most accessible of improvised weapons is surely a broomstick. Leaving aside the weapons, the scouts then train in the basics of boxing, ju-jitsu, and wrestling. The result is a well-rounded, combatant.

I never got past Webalos. Scouts looked like too much work. I wonder if there's some vintage merit badges for that floating around.

I don't think I remember anything I learned getting merit badges, except maybe knot tying.

“Oil stains can be treated with Naptha or other spot remover”. I had to memorize that for the leather working merit badge when I was at camp. I never knew what naptha was until a few years ago when we bought a bar

DM inserts a quote of nothing. Must be a Zen thing.

Weird. I embedded a twitter post. Maybe you've got a blocker up because I can see it.

Here it is without the embedding - https://twitter.com/streetfitebncho/status/1426649570096914434

You know, my new Mac won't show YouTube videos posted on D00M. It'll show them on KFM. To see vids on my Mac here, I have to open the private window. That's the only way to get around this issue, according to the interwebz.

Twitter loading.

So can you see it? I can see it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm cool with the Zen thing. Most of my Zen things are mistakes, but I just let them ride to build upon my street cred.

Dammit. Another missed opportunity to get DM to question his sanity.

Of course I can see it. There are all those dancing bears. Very funny.

I can see it.  FYI.
