RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-10-2020 I agree with DM that you need some device to tie everything together. I suggest using your life as that device. Who were you at the beginning of this journey, why did you have a burning need to get a degree in screen writing? What are movies to you, anyway? And who are you at various points along the way, until the end? Which of these experiences changed you? I disagree with DM in that I don’t think exaggerating yourself is a good idea; that extreme tone can be hard to maintain and you are already plenty sarcastic. Be yourself, but you are going to have to tell the reader who the hell you are, at various life junctures, and who you become. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-10-2020 Excellent. I'm definitely not the Best Boy. Different department all together. Thank you for all the notes. Now, I just have to wade through. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Drunk Monk - 10-11-2020 (10-10-2020, 04:55 AM)Greg Wrote: Now, I just have to wade through. My newest nickname is Master Rejecto. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-14-2020 After seeing the trailer for the latest film in the Tremors cannon (Tremors:Shaker Island), it occurs to me that I need to direct a Tremors film for my film career to come full circle. Ooh and I have an idea on how to make it work. What if the Tremor worms was some sort of science experiment/weapons testing by a secret government lab? Each iteration of the movie is just another experiment in the process of developing the worm weapons. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-15-2020 Note in the margin from CF: What movie did I recently see Leary in? My response: Will knowing the answer to that question make the memoir better? RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - cranefly - 10-15-2020 Whoops. A note to myself that I never got back to. I've just now been perusing IMDB, still can't track it down. I saw it within the last 2 or 3 months. But to answer your question, the answer to my question has little bearing on your memoir -- though come to think of it, it would be nice to preserve it in the margin of the printed book. Ahah! Got it! Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me (1992). I never reviewed it, but far better than I expected. Not even the poster. WTH cf?!? ![]() As you've surely ascertained by now, I review everything I watch here. It's good practice for my work and often the only way I can remember. I'm thinking of reviewing commecials next...if they have sword fights. My apologies Greg. I stalled out on reading TRDotFM because I had to slam two books for work. And those two were painful reads. I have another I have to read this weekend and am falling behind with the workload so I'll indulge your patience a little more. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-15-2020 It's all good. I'm in the middle of a big wallow, trying to figure out what to do next. I am fixing my myriad typos that CF has pointed out to me. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-16-2020 Now how 'bout the education of a an award-winning film-maker? That would be an interesting story. From Wood-butcher to award winner. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-17-2020 I like it. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-17-2020 I really do want to know about why you chose movies. I've known you since the late Cretaceous but I don't know why you do what you do. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-17-2020 The glamour. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-17-2020 Drugs and delusion are cheaper options RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Greg - 10-17-2020 But where is the self abegnation in that. RE: The Rough Draft of the Film Memoir by Greg - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-17-2020 Aren’t memoirs for self-reflection and trying to find the meaning/threads of one’s life? |
