I’m in. Left late because my YMAA boss wanted to chat about giant sequoias. Raced up the 5+ hour drive. Got in at 6 when registration closed. Parked, set up, had to repark (typical reggae).
The venue is completely different but the vibe is familiar. A lot of the crew worked Northern Nights here two weeks ago.

Kailash - a 14 year kid - started super strong. Falsetto on top of funky keys.
We are in a wicked sound clash between the main & secondary stages.
Venue is small, manageable so far.

Natalie Rise was irie fun. Front of state in tree shadow by 3.
Assisted with a few syncopal saves. Mostly running amuck, skankin front of stage.
There’s just nothing like the bass punch RotR puts out. So irie.

Lots of calls. A lotta peeps fell out after Anthony B (main stage closer). Now it’s all about the River stage which pounds away until…idk…daybreak?
Been a great day. Fun. Friends. Bass immersion. My face already hurts from grinning so damn much.
Danced a lot. Ate well. Luvin mi reggae.

Seth kept us busy until past 4:20. Maybe got a cycle in. Main mission is to catch Peter as he arrives in an hour, and get him settled.
We lost 40% of our crew. Hoel was coming with Donna & Steve and had to bail for some family matter. Kelli just bailed - she’s an old RM rogue psych chick.

Sunday - time to pack and make the long journey back to the default world. Fortunately I have all day to do it. I can take my time. Just waiting to get properly caffeinated.
It’s so reaffirming to be back here at RotR. So many feels. After the snwmf blow our reggae community took, how good and how pleasant it is to regroup once more.

One went down hard so it was obvious. He's like me - 1st time was minor, 2nd time was asymptomatic. This third time rocked him - he said he's been sicker than he's ever been in his life. He's on the Pax now and feeling a little better this morning.
A cautionary tale for me. I've been kinda cocky about my resistance since I caught it coming out of China. Plus my previous experiences with it have been more of an inconvenience than a life-threatening illness.
I was right up on the rail for almost all of Kailash's set.

Just cut my wristband. I usually cut them a week or so afterwards, but I kept this one as a memento with the OSL one.
I had some trepidation about attempting a doubleheader festival weekend, but it worked out ok in the end. In fact, it was glorious. The most dangerous part was the drive home from RotR and not falling asleep at the wheel.
