RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Greg - 07-02-2022 After my recent knee vicissitudes, the Queen looked at me the way you looked at a mentally challenged person and said "What do you mean you are still going backpacking?" Trail of the Damaged™ RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-02-2022 It is worrisome for sure. We have a few more weeks to rehab. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Greg - 07-02-2022 Those were the weeks I was supposed to build up a little endurance. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-02-2022 Same. At least we’ll be in good company while the rest of the squad charges ahead. They hike too fast to see bears anyway… RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 07-02-2022 "Good company" with the Mountain Rescue Squad? RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-02-2022 Not helping… RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 07-03-2022 G-Man is the Helper -- I'm the asshole. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Greg - 07-03-2022 The Mountain Rescue Squad is referred to as YOSAR. I watch a lot of their videos and follow them on Insta. I need to know what I'm in for. Not a helper. Probably an A-hole. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-03-2022 I suppose that's good prep... I thought all D00M were a-holes. I thought that was the point. But a-holes can be helpful, especially when you need to poop. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-11-2022 I’m readjusting my scope and aiming for SDCC2022. I’m rather proud that I went from an sdcc virgin to a pro pass to an exhibitor/panelist so quickly. I am stocking up on pain meds in order to survive. It does give me some trepidation. SDCC is the polar opposite of backpacking - crowds of smelly fans who need to understand deodorant and how not to gawk in such a way to block traffic. Getting to SD and back again solo would be no thing if not for my messed up spine. I have the hotel and pass voucher, but there’s a little glitch in that they didn’t book me for Thursday night even though they insisted on me arriving then. I’ll basically have two days to cover it all. Last time, Tara & I had four days and missed a lot of stuff. But I’m on Immortal’s ticket so I’ll be in their service. Such is ronin life… Im really excited. I just hope my pinched nerves don’t cripple me. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Greg - 07-11-2022 It should be awesome to be on the other side of the veil. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-11-2022 Meh. Been there. Kinda bummed to be flying solo again on this one. But we shall see how it all pans out. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-11-2022 Well damn My SDCC dance card is filling up fast. I’ve already been invited to a private Den of Geek party, an Immortal banquet, and to connect with a few peeps, plus there’s the panel and I’m designated for two autographing sessions at the booth. Now Den is dangling a potential interview but it may be too close to my panel. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - Drunk Monk - 07-11-2022 I just mapped out my SDCC game plan so far. The hotel and dinner that Immortal secured for us is deep in the convention center, central to the event. The Den of Geek party is right across the street. Everything seems pretty close but I remember walking miles and miles here. The only dangling detail is a snafu with my hotel - I arrive Thursday night but my reservation starts on Friday. Getting that sorted soon hopefully. Everything else is coming together nicely. RE: San Diego Comic-Con 2009 - cranefly - 07-12-2022 May this iron out for you. This looks like an opportunity for a whole lot of diverse fun work. |
