Doctor Cringeworthy and the Febriles

(inspired by DM's cringeworthy posts)

RE: Greatest band names - Drunk Monk - 05-08-2020

I was just going to go with 'Cringeworthy' - which could be a punk clown band that plays bagpipes and banjos.

Birds of Despair.

tQ mentioned this after I said the birds despaired because the bird feeder was empty.

I wanted to do the KFJC broadcasting class so I could one day do a regular morning show called "Piper at the Gates of Dawn"...wake up to the sounds of bagpipes from across the world!

One day, I may fulfill this dream...

I endorse your dream! Go forth! Make it so! Live your dream!

Been there, done that.

Stacy once donated to KFJC so I could cohost Spliff Skankin's JAH's music show as a birthday present. It was something she set up through DOOM's favorite KFJC DJ Peggy O (https://kfjc.org/listen/dj-info?djid=148). It was great fun hosting with Spliff. There's a cassette tape of that show somewhere. I should find that and transfer it someday. That was when I made the public announcement that Stacy was pregnant.

I knew most of those already. I've always questioned the Steely Dan one because given their sound, it's just not Burroughs-y enough.

Actually on second thought, The Encouraging Yeti is a horrible name for a band. However, it'd make a great title for a short story by Gorey.

RE: Greatest band names - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 06-06-2020

Gorey FTW!

When DM first began bone-shaming PPFY, his riposte was to send this postcard saying "We know what Basil said".

It remains one of PPFY's best ripostes ever. Bon touche, mon ami.
