RE: Monterey Jazz Festival - Drunk Monk - 09-28-2025 It started gray, then got warm & sunny again. Fantastic day full of incredible music, laughs, shenanigans, and a few saves. Had our first dementia case. Thundering Trans trumpeter Swedish trombone / flautist / tape dancer / juggler / Scottish bagpipe player blew me away. Sizzling keyboardist in stuffy sweltering Dizzy’s place A email complaint from a burner email that we suspect is someone we ejected looking for revenge Psylocibic Late night tastings - redbreast 12 (mine), some name anejo, more weird candies - my hardest drug is sugar here And Ben-dejo ate a fistful of ants Wait WTF am I up? It’s still dark My circadians are way off right now RE: Monterey Jazz Festival - Drunk Monk - 09-28-2025 Chillin at camp. Waiting for arrivals Cool breezes between muggy waves Climate change Gospel was heavenly Waiting for Stacy & Sofia RE: Monterey Jazz Festival - Drunk Monk - 09-28-2025 Home In bed Another wonderful festival I’ll tell you about it later And with MJF, my 2025 festival season comes to a close. RE: Monterey Jazz Festival - Drunk Monk - 09-29-2025 Woke to a few texted pix of the Jazz Cats at the afterparty. Looked like fun like always. But some cups I must pass by… I brought my pocket version of Hakagure and am pleased that I actually started reading it. Her name is Gunhild Carling and her show was my fav of the weekend. Such high energy. All over the place like some mad vaudeville act. Such tight chops. I’d pay to see her and her band again. Every song and comic schtick grabbed me by the tassels and shook me like a flapper. Extra points because I got a selfie with her daughter, Idun Blomé who is also in the band. Here’s a taste RE: Monterey Jazz Festival - thatguy - 09-29-2025 She's fun! https://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=7001&highlight=Gunhild --tg |
