DM - Summer isn't over yet. Equinox is 9/22.

fair

But Labor Day always felt like the turning point for me concert-wise. I think that hails back to the Hog Farm pig-niks.

I cannot remember a time in my life when I've gone so long without going to the movies, a live concert, or getting stoned.

My COVID vacation has been extended to Friday.

167: two telemeetings - Immortal & fbu - then over to moms.

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 09-08-2020

to catch up on Ellen

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 09-08-2020

How's your mom taking the Ellen kerfuffle?

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 09-08-2020

She's only marginally aware. If you watch TV news and read the newspaper, your perspective on the world is vastly different than on the interwebz.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 09-08-2020

I miss my daily newspaper.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 09-08-2020

You can always subscribe.

The Mercury is like a pamphlet now - so skinny. I do miss consistantly edited & curated content but diversity may be our saving grace.

I get the Chronicle on my Kindle. It's not the same.

For 50 odd years I spent Sunday on the couch with the paper. Sure, it was the funnies in the early years, but I've branched out. I love going through the paper and getting the news.

Yesterday I enjoyed reading about the Presbyterian Mars rover on Google news.

I was raised on the Merc, switched to the Chron for a while, and then the NYT. I miss those morning over breakfast reads too. I suppose I could read the Merc at my mom's but I'm just not into it anymore.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 09-08-2020

Switch out LA Times and it's the same. I would read the Mercury when ever I came back to Saratoga, but it's gone downhill since the acquisition.

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 09-08-2020

I read the Merc in the online version until very recently. They stopped delivering the Sunday paper and stopped sending me the link to the daily. I guess we owe them some money but they never send a bill. We got the Chronicle for a while, but I switched to the NYT (online) when the cultural coverage of the Chronicle got skimpy. Plus I love the NYT crossword.

168: Need to work on unclogging my mom's sink (it's just really slow). Maybe make a grocery run. She's well stocked but I'm here and might as well. There's the usual chores for her. Then back to the Cruz. I need to get my questions sorted for tomorrow's interview. Try not to stress about valiactivdation...
