New to me. I had only been there once before to meet with the managers and that was many years ago. We met in an office near the bookshop. This was the first time I explored the grounds.
We did the 6 mile loop which I believe has been there for a while. It was lovely. Only saw 8 people (only 1 was alone) and they were not chatty. Did not fall on our ass. Stacy was in full pack so I could keep up with her. She broke a shoulder strap so good thing that happened here and not backpacking (she uses an ancient external frame pack from the 70s - she replaced shoulder straps a few years back but those were for a daypack - I just replaced her hip belt yesterday). Yuki has a blast but almost got in a fight with a wild turkey protecting her chicks.
Now I’m thinking nap…

I got attacked pretty badly by a yellowjacket there on the trail that goes along the creek. He was pissed off about something and got under my clothes and kept biting me until he was finally squished...

For nearly 30 years, I have worn my Grateful Dead US flag/rose crew shirt on nearly every 4th. Not today. I’m all in black, wearing my Karuna shirt designed by Tara after winning a yearly school design contest for their India trip (Karuna means compassion or mercy in Sanskrit).
Finished my yoga class. I’m at the Bagelry next door to the studio; Hell in a Bucket was playing when I walked in (this place almost always plays dead shows). Headed home to deal with a few social media tasks for work, then just relaxing until tonight when I’ll be talking Yuki down from his annual firework anxiety attack. There were a few last night, and he stuck to me like glue, slept on my feet until 3:30 (amazing how my space a 40lb dog can take up on a bed). I’m down on sleep. Glad I bailed on Kesha last night to be with him.
The mental image of Greg crotch wrestling will haunt me. Nevertheless, if you need any help, I’m always at your disposal. If you need DM to appear as a talking head to stri g stuff together, he’s available as long as there’s nachos on the crafty table…

Had a mediocre Kung fu session because I’m guarding my ankle. Took a salt bath and now I’m thinking … nap. Yuki had me up late last night, or I should say those damn firecrackers had him up so i was up.

First meeting done, one to go. Work, but no writing at the moment, which is kinda weird. Sorting the end of this month and the beginning of next month - 4 weekends booked up in a row. Then over to svale to check in on mom and hang out with Tara.

Summer Nats are finished, we had a good overall event (7 medals, I think, 3 of them gold, many kids now have national points). The number of competitors has almost doubled over the years and there are many more really good programs out there. There is another training camp in SF before World Championships in former Soviet Georgia.
