Day 140: I drank too much coffee in prep for my webinar yesterday. Today I need to tackle those FBU & KFM tasks. And clean my dao. Maybe some more housecleaning too.

Day 143: FBU telemeeting, DoG writing, KFM writing. I really need to get that KFM stuff off my desk. The DoG task is a new assignment that I'm excited about because it's a request from the top. FBU might be a hassle because I'm dealing with a Taiwanese micromanager.

Tomorrow last day of teaching for me. Maybe for the weekend, maybe for the month, who knows? SF Youth Summer Camps ends 8/15 and the city has not renewed permission for the youth sports to continue.
The city did put out a 15 page guideline for what youth sport can/can't do...but we have to wait for the Covid numbers to come down before we can act.

Day 144: Dammit I was really trying to get to sleep before midnight. I tucked into bed well over an hour ago, read a bit, had a whiskey nitecap and have been listening to the waves and seals, and some weird squeaky noise that my neighbor is making - almost comical like sec on a old cot but I know he’s alone. WTH?
Anyway, today I’ll keep chipping on my latest DoG pieces, maybe try venture out to the beach before the inevitable heat wave crowds, of maybe just take Yuki to the dog park.
Oh bother. Still not sleepy. My neighbor stopped squeaking, gargled and expectorated, then went inside. Now all I hear is waves. Even the seals are asleep. But not me. My brain is squirmin like a toad. Not a water bowl toad either. More like a toad trying to escape an oily hot wok. Ouch what a horrid mental image. Why did I even think that? Just part of my three-ring insomniac brain circus.
Ah, now the seals are barking again. They are under the Boardwalk, about a mile away, but on nights like this, I can hear them like a squeaky expectorating next door neighbor.
I should’ve dropped some melatonin earlier. If I take some now, I’ll be drowsy all morning and I need to be alert to court my writing muse. She’s such a tease when she’s not being a cold harsh bitch.
It’s hot tonight. That’s not helping at all.

It’s a gorgeous night. I took a detour along the beach on my way home from Harriett’s. No sea lions, though. I could hear them in North Beach, but not out here. I still get foghorns, but not tonight.
Victory is fine. Covid dovetailed with our slow season, so no big hit. Our rent is laughably low and it has been a part-time gig for Will and me ($ wise). The fencing public will likely be fits/starts on reopening, but shit is still getting broken, uniforms get too small for the growing crotch-gobblins.
