Cracking open Deep State Conspiracies doesn't come with a dental plan.

Emory was a regular at ACWLPFB, did a lot of special ordering of obscure tracts. A very engaging guy, enjoyable to talk to

Now that you mention that, I remember seeing him there once. I didn't know who it was; someone had to tell me after he left.

Now he surely stumbles about muttering 'I told ya so. But did ya listen?'

In the good news and bad news category of existence, the good news is the massive boar jaw bone was not dug up in the garden. I'm happy there isn't a giant boar skeleton under all my plants. The bad news is that there is another fence section to be repaired as Aoife has broken through another section of fence. Chances are high she's been running loose all night.

One word of advice:

Cyclone

There are only two nights per year when Yuki sleeps in my bed: New Year’s Eve & Independence Day. He is firework phobic. Poor pup. We had shared some night cheese in hopes of calming him down. He’s so sleepy but the distant explosions have him on edge.

I feel ya.

Aoife went off on her own self guided walk for about an hour. I thought she might have gone to live with the deer she chased off.

They are very uncomfortable and irritate my skin.

I hid my head in the sand and pretended that Aoife was done destroying the fence. Today I looked out the window and saw Aoife finish her destruction of a new section and pop out to freedom. I spent most of the morning doing repairs. I've added chicken wire to the protective measures. It all looks ghastly.

For awhile, The Queen and I have joked that we really need to find the skull that goes with the jaw bone Aoife brought into the house. Today as I walked the dogs, I spotted the skull outside the garden fence. I had no idea how the skull arrived by the side of the garden. I completed the dog walk, put the dogs inside and went out to look at the skull. The skull arrival was a great mystery. How did the skull get here? Maybe some other animal was dropping off offerings in exchange for the food they stole from the cats? Yesterday, we had found two pieces of spine with no idea how they got there. Could also be from the skeleton of the mystery boar.

As I bent to pick up the skull, Aoife popped through a new hole in the fence that I had not noticed. Mystery solved. She was out again looking for souvenirs. I'll be spending the rest of the morning sealing up the rest of the lattice on fence.

That's a cool skull. Legbone would be jealous.

More tales of Aoife-dini.

I blocked off all the lattice. I don't have to worry about Aoife getting out anymore. Case closed.

I was surprised to find Aoife waiting for me on the back porch this morning well outside her completely secure garden compound. She was sopping wet from spending the night running through the long grass. She was also thrilled to be back in the house. If I hadn't had locked the bedroom door, Aoife would have awoken the Queen to tell her how excited she was to be back in the house as well as sharing copious amounts of water.

We left on our morning walk during which I spent the entire time trying to figure out how she had escaped. I was leaning towards the terrible conclusion that Aoife had used the boards I attached to the lattice to climb the fence. That was nightmare fuel. Another possibility was egress through the garage. If I don't close and lock the door between the garage proper and the mudroom, Aoife will open that door and get into the garage. I leave the garage door up about eight inches so my oldest cat can get in and out of the garage. Aoife is able to get out through that narrow opening.

When I returned from the walk, with the Queen now having arisen, I asked her if the door to the garage was locked when she went to give mama cat her breakfast. She couldn't quite recall. But she did mention that the dog door to the garden was still blocked from yesterday. I had blocked that door to keep the dogs out of the garden while I did fence work. Good news bad news. Aoife didn't jump the fence but she was still out and about.

Later on, I walked by the garden fence and saw another present from Aoife. I guess she was frantic to get back inside the yard so she completely destroyed another section of lattice, something she can no longer do from the inside because the boards keep her from doing that.

I hope tonight she remains in the yard.

Aoife is a parkour master.
