I walked to the used bookstore since I couldn't pick up the rental car (see other thread for that). It was pretty hot coming back. But I did make $21 cash, and they took all of them.

I just got back from Concord which is hot as a cast iron skillet. Jonny & I went to show face at Tomizaki’s tournament, which was small but a lot of old friends. We left before lunch, grabbed a bite nearby and then I miscalculated and got stuck in the middle of beach traffic. Took me an hour to get over the hill - all the traffic was on the southbound ascent like usual because SiValley tourists just don’t know how to merge. I stuck it out because I didn't want to be in 3digi heat no more.
Now I’m home chillin. Stacy took Yukz to the park. I’m being lazy, trying not to dwell on the road ahead too much.

I have Monday off-off. Both jobs are ot on tomorrow. Tuesday is Day Job only. Club reopens on Wednesday.
Dropped H off at SFO late in the morning, we are now What’sApp-ing from Schipol Airport in Hamsterdam. Her 2 month Euro sojourn has begun. I’ll join her in about a week
Summer National Fencing Championships wrap up tomorrow. 10 days, 6000 fencers, 13,000 entries (multiple entries per fencer). Good outing for us in some ways. Some national titles, lotta Top-8 medals. Decent medal haul, but i wanted to see more of our kids finish in the points (national points only awarded for top 32 finishers in each event).

I have two YMAA telemeets and a few small items to pick up for my trip. Then dinner with Tara tonight and boarding a 23 hour flight. I’ll likely have radio silence after Taipei until next Monday.

Navigate the high speed rail to get back to Zhengzhou and meet my old local friend Mr. Wang at the Ma-Don-Lau (McDonalds). Get to DengFeng and catch up with the North American team.
G2 just sent me the weekend schedule which I imagine just got finalized last night.

Today I must get my passport back from the hotel staff (I came in too late and there was this huge line so they asked if they could keep it until this morning because I don’t know something in Chinese & I hate doing that). I need to register and then there’s some special event that’s not on the schedule at 9am, then some sort of leaders meeting at 4 that I think I’m supposed to attend that goes until 6, then a welcoming banquet here at the hotel at 6;30.
Daybreak is in an hour. Breakfast starts at 7.
