706 Frederick is 0.8 of a mile from me right now, or a 16 min walk according to googmaps.

RE: Cruz - Greg - 06-29-2023

You could be there in no time! Don't forget to film the encounter.

RE: Cruz - King Bob - 06-29-2023

Bring catnip.

RE: Cruz - Greg - 06-29-2023

Seems appropriate.

RE: Cruz - Drunk Monk - 06-29-2023

Does catnip work on lions? I'd need like a sack of it.

That Venator is hecka distracted...

BE AWARE MOUNTAIN LION SEEN IN THE AREA
SCPD has received confirmed sightings of a mountain lion in our community. Yesterday, the pictured mountain lion was lying on the fence line between an office building and the apartment complex in the 700 block of Frederick Street.

Police officers thoroughly checked the area and will continue to partner with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife as we work towards a safe capture and relocation effort. We want the public to be made aware to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors.
It’s important to remember that many areas of our city are bordered by parks and open spaces that are home to all kinds of wildlife, including mountain lions. Do not feed wildlife; feeding prey invites predators. Remove any water sources.
If you come in contact with a mountain lion, back away slowly, be large, shout, and keep children close.
If you see a mountain lion, please notify us at 9-1-1 with the location, description, and behavior.
While it would be rare for a mountain lion to approach humans, you can follow a few simple rules to keep you and your family safe. Provided by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
• If you see a mountain lion, DO NOT APPROACH IT. Most mountain lions will try to avoid confrontation.
• Avoid hiking or jogging through wooded areas when mountain lions are most active— dawn, dusk, or at night.
• Keep a close watch on small children when hiking or traveling in or around wooded areas.
• If you encounter a mountain lion, do not run, make noise, and try to look bigger by waving your arms; throw rocks or other objects. Pick up small children.

Why hasn't somebody put out a cardboard box?

Right? Simple solution.

Not sure if this applies to mountain lions as we, but tigers love pepper. They hate cinnamon.

Interesting but not relevant.

I carry pepper all the time at concerts now. It's a curative for marijuana overdose.

As a spray or as a seasoning?

RE: Cruz - Drunk Monk - 06-30-2023

Both actually.

Black pepper is a traditional remedy for acute marijuana intoxication that has some science behind it now. Something binds something that alleviates the high. Chewing on a few peppercorns reduces the intoxication (and we get a lot of marijuana overdoes with edibles nowadays). Some therapists that I work with claim that even the odor of freshly ground pepper reduces the high. I've used it several times on patients with good results. I've also taken pepper out of my diet.

If nothing else, it's a good placebo. And it's kinda funny to watch stoners chew on peppercorns.

RE: Cruz - King Bob - 06-30-2023

Wish I'd known that back in the day.
