- Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-16-2008 Only if they are cool. I could use them as prizes for the kids training pools. posters, postcards, tea and trading cards - Drunk Monk - 04-16-2008 The trading cards are really cool, but I don't have a ton of them for your kids I'm afraid. How many would you need for that? - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-17-2008 I would give out three tschotkas/event (1st -3rd place). Anything appreciated. Training pool held on most Saturdays. Many thanks for whatever you care to spare. LIfe size standees? - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-17-2008 We could use them to recreate the fight scenes in our own back yards!! I pulled a handful of trading cards for ya, PPFY - Drunk Monk - 04-17-2008 I'll send them to AFS tomorrow via the post. Just make sure your kids go see the movie. We need to support J&J... tell them to buy the mag too because that's what this is really all about. See http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=758 - we've posted an unabridged version of our cover story there. - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-19-2008 You got a link to the "Where can I buy this mag" listing? I'll post it. Seen it - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-21-2008 More to follow. We're available at all fine bookstores... - Drunk Monk - 04-21-2008 ...as extinct as they may be. In lieu of that, we're in Borders and B&N. Did you get the stuff, PPFY? I sent it late last week. I'm giving it an okay - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-21-2008 The story was slight. The shooting wasn't very crisp. It was all kind of murky. Can I say I didn't believe the kid was ready to do the martial arts. Yes, Fantasy, but just a little too much. Although I did like the training sequences, few as they were. Was there a shock or surprise in the movie that we didn't see coming? Also tell the producers the Chronicles of Narnia called and they want their title font back. Does anybody else find it odd that the first film to pair Jackie and Jet was an American Production? a shock or surprise in the movie that we didn't see coming - Drunk Monk - 04-23-2008 Spoiler the golden shower scene - but i should have seen it coming - it was a total monkey king move Unfortunately . . . . . - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-23-2008 A reviewer who hated the movie and especially that scene ruined it by talking about it. Not quite the surprise for me. But it could have been for others. Name another surprise? another surprise - Drunk Monk - 04-24-2008 Spoiler Golden Sparrow's coup de grace line "Come drink with me" - like the golden shower scene, it was a total Golden Sparrow moment. Second viewing -- might contain an indirect spoiler - cranefly - 04-25-2008 Last weekend I had the opportunity to see it again, this time with Lady Cranefly. She very much enjoyed it. As for me, I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. It really is a fine vehicle for Jet and Jackie, and although the plot isn't as subtle and nuanced as most French films, it is robust, well-proportioned and well-hung like a bodybuilder who doesn't do steroids. I'm finding the monkey hair a bit odd to the touch. It's more bristly than I would have expected; nonetheless it's still pleasant to run your fingers over. But I have to confess to missing the platypus. As for the whole desert scene, I'm having a much more difficult time adjusting to that. --cranefly me and the stars - Drunk Monk - 05-02-2008 there's even a chuck jones reference for HK http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/ezine/article.php?article=765 Huh! - Haggis Killer - 05-08-2008 Whadd'ya know? Rob's cleaned up. No more scraggly long hair and goatee. Must be the influence of his new spouse.
