RE: Cats of DOOM - Greg - 06-07-2018 You are much to rigid in your delineations. Giving meds to pets was the worst until, tQ realized the pets will eat anything if it is covered in cream cheese. My late pom figured out how to lick anything off a pill. He even seemed to be able to do it when we powdered the pill and mixed it in. In his final months, I'd go to the deli and try to figure out stuff he'd eat. He got so fussy. Fortunately Shiva is easily persuaded by fancy feast. RE: Cats of DOOM - Drunk Monk - 06-09-2018 The cat has gone stir crazy being locked inside and coned. She has decided that everyone should be up all night long to endure her suffering. All night long, she jumps up repeatedly with a start that makes me jump too. She dumped my double shot of Green Spot Whiskey I just poured and sat right in front of the TV while I was trying to watch some stuff. Then when I tried to sleep, she pooped odiferously near me, leapt on top of me making sure to step on me repeatedly, talking loudly using all sorts of new cat words I don't comprehend, and even turned on the desk light - this went on ALL NIGHT LONG. Alas. Cats. Poor thing. She's done with the oral meds (antibiotics and pain meds) and now just has the ointment. The wound has scabbed up okay. We'll all be so happy when the healing process is over. RE: Cats of DOOM - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 06-09-2018 Did she sing the Song of her People? Odiferous poop is akin to caterwauling carols. RE: Cats of DOOM - King Bob - 06-09-2018 Fortunately I have no pill giving problems - I just open her jaws, put it back in her throat, and hold her mouth closed until she swallows. RE: Cats of DOOM - Greg - 06-10-2018 I guess your cat is keeping you up all night in preparation for the Maeve extravaganza! Not only does she sing, she hits. Good times. RE: Cats of DOOM - Drunk Monk - 06-10-2018 Dawn has mellowed out. We now think it was a side effect of one of the oral meds that was making her so crazy all night. She’s returning to her normal sleep patterns (which is almost all the time - so jelly). Now as soon as the scab heals, the cone comes off. RE: Cats of DOOM - The Queen - 06-11-2018 19 year-old Pixel seems to be very happy that I’m home from my latest trip. So much so that no matter how many times I put her down on the floor so that I could get some work done, she would jump back up into my lap. Until she got tired of jumping later in the day, so she started climbing up my leg. This would not be a problem if I’d been wearing jeans, but it’s very, very warm in my office so I’m wearing shorts. Between Maeve jumping up and holding onto my legs when I got home at 1 am on Sunday morning and now Pixel’s attentions, I’m becoming the queen of welts and scabs! Love hurts! RE: Cats of DOOM - Drunk Monk - 06-16-2018 Stacy removed the cat cone. She was rewarded with two more dead chicks. Tara & I thought she might leave them for us to clean up but she didn’t. We just had the carpets cleaned too. Cat is still belled but chicks are easy pickings. RE: Cats of DOOM - The Queen - 06-16-2018 RIP, Pixel. She will be missed. RE: Cats of DOOM - Drunk Monk - 06-17-2018 Sorry to hear. 19 years is extraordinary though. The pix you posted of Pixel & Maeve were so bittersweet. RE: Cats of DOOM - Greg - 06-19-2018 For the first time in over 28 years, I don't have an indoor cat. I don't like it. RE: Cats of DOOM - Drunk Monk - 06-19-2018 Wait...does this make me the last DOOMer with a cat? Because that would be weird. I'm allergic to cats. RE: Cats of DOOM - Greg - 06-19-2018 I have two outdoor cats. Get over yourself. |
