RE: Las Vegas - Drunk Monk - 06-13-2024 After Area 51, we hopped a cab back to Paris to meet up with Dina, Leigh, Raz & Syl. They had a limo ready for the nights adventure… RE: Las Vegas - Drunk Monk - 06-14-2024 The limo took us to this crazy Golden Tiki bar, decorated with all manner of tiki kitsch, shrunken heads, pirate skeletons, brass dildos in the ladies room, swords, complete with a Dean Martin impersonator. It was outrageous fun. We all got stupid drinks. I got a flaming one. Syl got a flight. Super fun as we all got soused. Then it was over to the containment area near old town, which I knew well from LiB. There’s a whiskey bar there. We got more soused. An espresso whiskey drink was the fav, but I sampled Heaven’s Door, Bob Dylan’s brand, which is roughly complex and enjoyable but I doubt I’d invest. From there we went to a burnt out seemingly abandoned strip mall that concealed a surprising Asian fusion restaurant with over the top elegant decor called Saffron. It was delightful and delicious. Then it was back to the casino. Dina continued her winning streak on a wild penny video poker machine at the bar on some crazy Egyptian slot game that none of us understood but she won $1K overall on it. Raz, a stalwart video poker player, asked for my ‘lucky finger’ to draw 4 aces, a $400 payout. He gave me $50 for the luck and I played with that for an hour or so, whittling it down to $20. I got a huge shot of Jack that I couldn’t even finish. I left that and some Gatorade lite behind. Monday morning we got breakfast again at the Bellagio, but this time with Raz & Leigh. I had a $20+ bagel with lox. It was arguably one of the best bagels I’ve ever had but at that price, it’d better be so. We split a cab with Syl to the airport and were home by the afternoon, thoroughly spun by the Sphere. What a great hella expensive weekend! Viva la sphere! RE: Las Vegas - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 06-15-2024 Excellent! RE: Las Vegas - Greg - 06-15-2024 If I was going to blow a wad of cash at the Sphere, it would have been for U2.
