AND can play two different riffs on the stick and sing at the same time. RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - Drunk Monk - 09-23-2026 I am weirdly saddened by this. I haven't been there in decades but I liked that it was there. Quote:Believe it! Ripley's Believe It or Not to close in San Francisco RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - Greg - 09-23-2026 One of my go to spots as a kid. I always had to go there and the magic store that sat beside it. RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - thatguy - 09-23-2026 I don't believe it! --tg RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - King Bob - 09-23-2026 Somehow I never went in there. We used to go to the wax museum. I assume that's still there. RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-24-2026 (09-23-2026, 12:55 PM)King Bob Wrote: Somehow I never went in there. RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - Drunk Monk - 09-30-2026 Quote:Central Coast landmark Giant Artichoke Restaurant to close They made good fried artichokes. Greasy as hell but satisfying with a ranch dip. RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - Drunk Monk - 10-09-2026 Pasta Market on El Camino in Sunnyvale closed. I had a lot of attachment to that place. For years, when I'd visit my parents with Tara on Sundays to help my mom take care of my dad, we'd go to Pasta Pomodoro on El Camino. When that closed, after my dad died, we shifted to Pasta Market. It was my Sifu, Wing Lam, that introduced me to it. I'd take him to lunch occasionally, just to catch up, and he loved that place. It was the last place I ever saw him, unless you count his funeral. I went by on Tuesday after visiting my mom. It was gutted, permanently closed. I can't remember the last time I went. Probably back before my mom went into the care facility, so 4 years ago? RE: RIP Franchises of our youths - Drunk Monk - 10-14-2026 Getty images filed for bankruptcy but it’s such an institution, it’ll likely survive after a few million bucks are moved around. As a publisher, I’m painfully aware of them, but we never bought any images from them. Seemed less relevant in the digital age. |
