Releasing the hounds has, I’m convinced, saved my life. There are a couple of steep downhill “steps” in the trail that can get very slippery with loose dirt and very dry grass. Not having to hang on to the leash of a dog who wants to work off the “zoomies” as we head down those sections…. Yeah. Big difference.

Did a vet visit today for Maeve to see if there is anything we can do to make the cranky girl more comfortable. Not much. She's old. We were given some prednisone to help increase her appetite. We're also going to give her Milk of Magnesia to reduce her potassium intake.
On releasing the hound last night, I lost the hound in question. The Queen found the hound back at the Lair after I walked miles looking for her along the creek.
