Evacuation orders have been issued in the mountains and evacuation warnings were issued in Watsonville by Santa Cruz County due to rising flood water.
Evacuation Orders
According to the county, zones FEL-E008 and CRZ-E081 are under the evacuation order . These areas cover Paradise Park and east Felton.

"As of 11:30 AM river levels are continuing to rise, and we are expecting another few hours of rain. Therefore we issuing an evacuation order for folks in Felton Grove and Paradise Park to evacuate," the county told residents.
The area is also closed to the public trying to enter.
Evacuation Warnings
According to the county, zones PAJ-E026, PAJ-E027 AND PAJ-E028 are under evacuation warnings. These are areas covering northern areas of Watsonville.

"The County of Santa Cruz and Sheriff's Office in coordination with the City of Watsonville are monitoring water levels in Corralitos and Salispuedes Creeks. We are expecting the potential for minor flooding thru early evening. No Evacuations are required at this time. Move vehicles from low areas," the county said in their alert.
Flooding
As of 11:30 a.m., the San Lorenzo River was above 16.5-feet, which is the initial flooding stages.
Road Closures
Caltrans and the CHP are currently on the scene of a highway closure on Highway 9, north of Bear Creek. The closure is due to a landslide and authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area.

Power Outages
Nearly a thousand PG&E customers near Boulder Creek were without power, Saturday morning. According to PG&E, power went out before 8 a.m.
The crew had no estimated time for when power would be restored.

Fortunately this is nowhere near me (and far from tg too I think but I’m not monitoring his hood. Meanwhile I’m watching our backyard sink under a swamp and fighting off hordes of ants marching into our bungalow seeking shelter.
We need a few minutes break so Yuki can poop outside. How is everyone else faring?

One of our dog park friends flipped her car yesterday. She posted it on her ig. Started hydroplaning and went into an embankment. She was with her daughter who is around 10 I think. No one was hurt but yikes.
I’m on a bunch of hwy17 newsfeeds and I’m seeing a new accident pop up almost every hour. Of all goes according to plan, I’ll head over to svale tomorrow but the rain is supposed to let up… sun for Sunday.

Raining hard and steady here for hours. Raining when I went to sleep @ 4:30, raining when I woke up at 10, and hard rain, too.
So far, all good in my Ancient Abode. No exploding sewer pipes (the cause of the Christmas Blockage was from a tenant flushing their kitty litter. People are the worst). I was at H’s place last night for the last half of her open house/Nativity viewing. We didn’t adjourn until almost 2:00am. SHe will cook dinner for tonight and then decamp from her dry nest to my dry cave and we’ll do NYE here. We’ve laid in a supply of boozy-chocolates and plan on ruining our health that way.

It’s raining hard here too, plus wind - a real storm. I can see the growing pools in our front and back yards. Yuki is having none of it.
I’m still waiting for confirmation on tonight’s show. Starting to get annoyed at the whole hippie passive-agro schtick. It seems like fun but the storm is giving me pause (which is ridiculous because the Vets Hall is only a mile away and I’ve gone much farther through much worse for a show - getting lazier with age).
Staying home and binging more tv is sounding kinda good.

Raining here but not too hard. San Jose is in the rain shadow, so we get less. We traveled in good weather, so now can just home in the rain.

I just read that Downtown SF has rec'd 5.75 inches in the last 24 hours. The usual flooding in the Mission and SOMA has spread out a bit.
That is about a quarter of our *annual* rainfall.
